Nikon 500mm f4 AF-S II
Today we went to visit a good friend during the middle of the afternoon. Unfortunately, the lighting was terrible as the sun was disappearing behind blankets of thick cloud.
Geoff Trinder (I highly recommend looking at his work when he is giving talks) is a great guy who uses some top notch Nikon equipment that I got to have a play with. The images are from the D2x and 500mm f4 AF-S II set on a tripod in his back garden. Some of Geoff's work can be seen here.
I hope that you like these shots and all comments and criticisms are welcome.
In this shot of a Blue Tit, a longer than optimum shutter speed was used and 'colder' white balance was used to give a sense of the temperature. I was inspired to try to go for a Vincent Munier shot. Please view his work at: http://www.vincentmunier.com/
This shot of a female Blackbird was also taken in Geoff's backgarden. This was also a slow shutter speed moment even at ISO 640 at f/4 on a rock steady tripod! I have tried to go small in the frame with this shot.
