On the spur of the moment...
Remember. When you think that it is all over, it probably isn't. After a small amount of time in the hide not getting photos, we decided to move on. My hands were too cold to use the camera reliably so away it went into the bag so that my hands could warm up in my pockets (error 1). As we left the hide, the sun was breaking through the clouds just a a flock of Greylag Geese were approaching it = quick, mad rush. Get the camera out. Switch on. Settings correct? Shoot. Handheld, no time to get it on the monopod. After I had a few shots and the Geese had moved away into the distance, I put the camera away (error 2) and we carried on walking. We got to the car park and there was a Blackbird bathing in a puddle. He didn't seem to mind that we were around = quick, mad rush. Get the camera out. Switch on. Settings correct? Shoot. Handheld, no time to get it on the monopod. Then, he decided that he had had enough and the camera went away for a third time (correct decision 1) and we had a nice walk back to the car. It was all a bit on the 'spur of the moment...'
